arcing in switching power supply
I met arcing issue in the adapter design. So can some one provide the topic of arcing? How to prevent arcing in the power supply design and what is the standard?

Yes, but it is occurred between the shielding case and primary heatsink, to improve thermal problem, we must tauch the shielding to the heatsink nearly, and isolated by 3M type, if there have gap, will cause arcing, but it is difficult to guarantee. Do you have some idea?

Where is your sheilding ?
If it located between heatsink and drain pin of MOSFET? Maybe you need upload a picture of your power supply

arcing in adapter
The shielding just is an enclosure/case, the arcing is occured between cover and primary heatsink, isolated by 3M tape, to prevent this arcing, we should tauch this two metal closely, don\'t have any air gap, not hi-pot issue, just arcing current is higher to reach the Level 5 of arcing standard, but we need to meet level 8 of arcing standard, the isolation is not been damaged. I would like to know more information regarding arcing technique, do you know where can get it? Thanks a lot.
