二、1/4磚QH系列產品介紹(Introduction of Quarter-brick Series)
1/4磚QH系列DC-DC隔離變換器是針對通信領域開發的新型模塊電源,采用國際標準的開放式1/4磚結構,最大輸出電流達25A,輸入電壓范圍寬,效率高,具有遙控、遠端取樣、輸出電壓精確可調、輸出過壓保護、過流保護和過溫保護等多種功能,適用于分布式供電系統、無線網絡、光網絡設備和企業網,可為最新一代的IC和微處理器提供電源.
Quarter-brick QH series are designed for the applications in telecommunication field, they adopt international standard quarter-brick open frame, can deliver up to 25A of output current, operate over a wide range of input voltage and achieve very high efficiency, with remote On/Off, remote sense, output voltage adjustment, over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protection. They are suitable for distributed power architectures, wireless network, optical network equipment, enterprise networks and latest generation ICS and microprocessor powered applications.
1/4磚QH系列DC-DC隔離變換器是2004年山東省信息產業發展專項資金項目,2005年11月通過省信息產業廳組織的項目驗收,2005年11月通過信息產業部通信電源產品質量監督檢驗中心測試,2005年11月通過省科技廳組織的科技成果鑒定,鑒定結論為:“其主要技術性能在國內同類產品中處于領先水平,并達到國際先進水平”.

i過流保護(Over-current Protection)
模塊具有限流保護功能,在輸出過載或短路時會進入“打嗝式”保護狀態.一旦輸出電流恢復正常,模
塊可自動恢復正常工作狀態.
The power modules have current limit protection to protect the module during output overload
and short circuit conditions.During overload conditions, the power modules may protect themselves
by entering a hiccup current limit mode. The modules will operate normally once the output current
returns to the specified operating range.
i輸出過壓保護 (Output Over-voltage Protection)
模塊具有獨立的過壓保護電路.當模塊出現過壓,過壓保護電路檢測到輸出電壓達到過壓保護點時,
模塊進入“打嗝式”過壓保護狀態.當故障排除,模塊恢復正常工作狀態.
The power modules have a control circuit, independent of the primary control loop. If there
is a fault in the primary regulation loop, the over voltage protection circuitry will cause the
power module to enter a hiccup over-voltage mode once it detects that the output voltage has reached
the over-voltage level. When the condition causing the over-voltage is corrected, the module will
operate normally.
i熱保護 (Thermal Protection)
如果模塊運行超過最大工作溫度,模塊將關斷,使其不至于熱損壞.當溫度降到過溫保護閾值之下,
模塊自動重啟.
When the power modules exceed the maximum operating temperature, the modules may turn-off to
safe-guard the power unit against thermal damage. The module will auto restart as the unit is cooled
below the over temperature threshold.
i遙控開關機(Remote on/off)
模塊為負邏輯遙控開關機.當On/Off與Vin(-)相連時,模塊開通;當On/Off開路時,模塊關斷.使
用時用戶應在On/Off和Vin(-)之間提供開關以控制兩腳間的電壓.On/Off腳可產生的最高電壓為15V,最
大允許漏電流為50μA.用戶使用的開關必須能夠維持一個<1.2V的低電平信號,且最大維持電流為1mA.
如果不使用此功能,應將On/Off與Vin(-)短接.
The on/off logic is negative logic. The power module will turn on if terminal On/Off is connected
to terminal Vin(-) and it will be off if terminal On/Off is left open. The user must supply a switch
between terminal On/Off and Vin(-) to control the voltage between them. The maximum voltage
generated by the power module at the On/Off terminal is 15V. The maximum allowable leakage current
of the switch is 50μA.If the negative logic feature is not being used, terminal On/Off should
be shorted to terminal Vin(-).
i輸出電壓調節(Output Voltage Adjustment)
通過外接電阻與模塊Trim和Sense+(或Sense-)腳相連,可調節模塊輸出電壓.如果不使用此功能,Trim
腳應開路.為了避免將噪聲引入Trim腳,可以在Trim與Sense-之間加一0.01μF電容.
在Trim和Sense-腳間外加電阻,可下調輸出電壓,但模塊的限流點并不會因此提高,所以此時模塊的
最大輸出功率降低.
在Trim和Sense+腳間外加電阻,可上調輸出電壓.但模塊的最大輸出功率是一定的,輸出電壓提高,
將使得輸出電流降低,以保證最大額定輸出功率.如果輸出電壓調得太高,將觸發輸出過壓保護電路.
The output voltage of the power module may be adjusted by using an external resistor connected
between the Trim terminal and either the Sense(+) or Sense(-) terminal. If the output voltage
adjustment feature is not used, Trim terminal should be left open. Care should be taken to avoid
injecting noise into the power module’s trim pin. A 0.01μF capacitor between the power module’s
Trim pin and Sense(-) pin may help avoid this.
With a resistor between the Trim and Sense(-) terminals, the output voltage is adjusted down.
The current limit set point does not increase as the module is trimmed down, so the available output
power is reduced.
With a resistor between the Trim and Sense(+) terminals, the output voltage is adjusted up.
The maximum power available from the power module is fixed,as the output voltage is trimmed up,
the maximum output current must be decreased to maintain the maximum rated power of the module.
Trimming the output voltage too high may cause the output over voltage protection circuit to be
triggered.
i遠端取樣(Remote Sense)
遠端取樣功能是為了補償輸出線路壓降,當不使用此功能時,應將Sense+與Vo(+)短接,Sense-與Vo(-)
短接.當使用遠端取樣功能時,Vo(+)與Vo(-)端的輸出電壓會升高,為了保證最大額定輸出功率,輸出電
流將隨之下降.
The power modules feature remote sense to compensate for the effect of output distribution
drops.If the function is not being used, the Sense(+) terminal should be connected to the Vo(+)
terminal and the Sense(-) terminal should be connected to the Vo(-) terminal.As the output voltage
increases due to the use of the remote sense, the maximum output current must be decreased for
the power module to remain below its maximum power rating.
i輸入阻抗(Input Impedance)
給模塊供電的電源阻抗會干擾模塊,為了減小干擾,當電源電感大于2μH時,應在模塊輸入端加22—
100μF的電解電容.
The source impedance of the power feeding the DC/DC converter module will interact with the
DC/DC converter. To minimize the interaction, a 22—100μF input electrolytic capacitor should
be present if the source inductance is greater than 2μH.
i散熱(Heat Dissipation)
模塊半載以上使用時必須使用風扇散熱,半載以下為了提高模塊的可靠性也可以使用風扇.如圖所示的
風向可以達到最佳的散熱效果.
When the power modules operate with a load greater than half rated load, a fan must be used
to transfer heat.When the power modules operate with a load smaller than half rated load, using
a fan can increase the reliability of the power modules. Airflow as this picture shows can achieve
the best heat dissipation.
i可靠性(Reliability)
本模塊經過嚴格的設計,如元器件降額使用、產品設計反復論證等,通過嚴格的老化和測試可以篩選出
早期失效的模塊.使用Telcordia TR-332計算方法計算出MTBF值大于3×106小時.不恰當的操作或清
潔過程會影響模塊的外觀、易測性和可靠性.
The power modules are designed using stringent design guidelines for component derating,
product qualification, and design reviews. Early failures are screened out by both burn-in and
final test. The MTBF is calculated to be greater than 3M hours using the Telcordia TR-332
calculation method. Improper handling or cleaning processes can adversely affect the appearance,
testability, and reliability of the power modules.

八、DC-DC的應用與設計(Application and Design of DC-DC Converter)
DC—DC需要合理的使用,下面的應用資料有助于應用工程師設計出更優秀的供電系統.
DC-DC should be used properly, these application data will help engineers to design better power supply network.
8.1 輸入考慮 (Input Consideration)
8.1.1 輸入保護Input Protection
可外加輸入保護電路,一般由保險絲、反極性保護二極管、輸入電容、瞬態抑制二極管等組成,常用的輸入保護電路如圖1所示.用戶可根據實際情況組合選用.
在模塊輸入端的保險絲提供安全保護,一般保險絲的規格可選取1.5~2倍的額定輸入電流,如果模塊工作在一個相當寬的電壓范圍,保險絲應該選擇2倍的最大輸入電流.
輸入的濾波電容可吸收模塊輸入端的電壓尖峰并為模塊提供一定的維持電壓,一般在25~50W功率48V輸入的模塊,選擇幾十微法左右的電容較為合適.考慮到紋波的因素,盡量選用低ESR的電容.

為了防止輸入電源瞬態高壓將電源模塊燒毀,可在輸入端接一瞬態抑制二極管,放在濾波電容之前.此二極管還可起到反極性保護的作用.
為了降低共模噪聲,可以增加Y電容,一般選擇幾納法高頻電容.但這種保護方法僅限于有case(接殼)引腳的模塊.
Users can add input protection circuit like Fig.1 as required. In common, the fuse should be 1.5 to 2 times of module rated input current, and the input capacitor filter should be low ESR. To protect the module from instantaneous high input voltage, users can also use a TVS before the input capacitor filter. The Y capacitors can reduce common mode noise, but they can only be used on modules with case pin.
8.1.2 輸入范圍Range of Input Voltage
輸入欠壓不會損害模塊,只會造成模塊工作異常,但輸入過壓應有限制.一般情況下,輸入電壓為9~18V范圍的產品,輸入電壓不得超過25V;輸入電壓為18~

i過流保護(Over-current Protection)
模塊具有限流保護功能,在輸出過載或短路時會進入“打嗝式”保護狀態.一旦輸出電流恢復正常,模
塊可自動恢復正常工作狀態.
The power modules have current limit protection to protect the module during output overload
and short circuit conditions.During overload conditions, the power modules may protect themselves
by entering a hiccup current limit mode. The modules will operate normally once the output current
returns to the specified operating range.
i輸出過壓保護 (Output Over-voltage Protection)
模塊具有獨立的過壓保護電路.當模塊出現過壓,過壓保護電路檢測到輸出電壓達到過壓保護點時,
模塊進入“打嗝式”過壓保護狀態.當故障排除,模塊恢復正常工作狀態.
The power modules have a control circuit, independent of the primary control loop. If there
is a fault in the primary regulation loop, the over voltage protection circuitry will cause the
power module to enter a hiccup over-voltage mode once it detects that the output voltage has reached
the over-voltage level. When the condition causing the over-voltage is corrected, the module will
operate normally.
i熱保護 (Thermal Protection)
如果模塊運行超過最大工作溫度,模塊將關斷,使其不至于熱損壞.當溫度降到過溫保護閾值之下,
模塊自動重啟.
When the power modules exceed the maximum operating temperature, the modules may turn-off to
safe-guard the power unit against thermal damage. The module will auto restart as the unit is cooled
below the over temperature threshold.
i遙控開關機(Remote on/off)
模塊為負邏輯遙控開關機.當On/Off與Vin(-)相連時,模塊開通;當On/Off開路時,模塊關斷.使
用時用戶應在On/Off和Vin(-)之間提供開關以控制兩腳間的電壓.On/Off腳可產生的最高電壓為15V,最
大允許漏電流為50μA.用戶使用的開關必須能夠維持一個<1.2V的低電平信號,且最大維持電流為1mA.
如果不使用此功能,應將On/Off與Vin(-)短接.
The on/off logic is negative logic. The power module will turn on if terminal On/Off is connected
to terminal Vin(-) and it will be off if terminal On/Off is left open. The user must supply a switch
between terminal On/Off and Vin(-) to control the voltage between them. The maximum voltage
generated by the power module at the On/Off terminal is 15V. The maximum allowable leakage current
of the switch is 50μA.If the negative logic feature is not being used, terminal On/Off should
be shorted to terminal Vin(-).
i輸出電壓調節(Output Voltage Adjustment)
通過外接電阻與模塊Trim和Sense+(或Sense-)腳相連,可調節模塊輸出電壓.如果不使用此功能,Trim
腳應開路.為了避免將噪聲引入Trim腳,可以在Trim與Sense-之間加一0.01μF電容.
在Trim和Sense-腳間外加電阻,可下調輸出電壓,但模塊的限流點并不會因此提高,所以此時模塊的
最大輸出功率降低.
在Trim和Sense+腳間外加電阻,可上調輸出電壓.但模塊的最大輸出功率是一定的,輸出電壓提高,
將使得輸出電流降低,以保證最大額定輸出功率.如果輸出電壓調得太高,將觸發輸出過壓保護電路.
The output voltage of the power module may be adjusted by using an external resistor connected
between the Trim terminal and either the Sense(+) or Sense(-) terminal. If the output voltage
adjustment feature is not used, Trim terminal should be left open. Care should be taken to avoid
injecting noise into the power module’s trim pin. A 0.01μF capacitor between the power module’s
Trim pin and Sense(-) pin may help avoid this.
With a resistor between the Trim and Sense(-) terminals, the output voltage is adjusted down.
The current limit set point does not increase as the module is trimmed down, so the available output
power is reduced.
With a resistor between the Trim and Sense(+) terminals, the output voltage is adjusted up.
The maximum power available from the power module is fixed,as the output voltage is trimmed up,
the maximum output current must be decreased to maintain the maximum rated power of the module.
Trimming the output voltage too high may cause the output over voltage protection circuit to be
triggered.
i遠端取樣(Remote Sense)
遠端取樣功能是為了補償輸出線路壓降,當不使用此功能時,應將Sense+與Vo(+)短接,Sense-與Vo(-)
短接.當使用遠端取樣功能時,Vo(+)與Vo(-)端的輸出電壓會升高,為了保證最大額定輸出功率,輸出電
流將隨之下降.
The power modules feature remote sense to compensate for the effect of output distribution
drops.If the function is not being used, the Sense(+) terminal should be connected to the Vo(+)
terminal and the Sense(-) terminal should be connected to the Vo(-) terminal.As the output voltage
increases due to the use of the remote sense, the maximum output current must be decreased for
the power module to remain below its maximum power rating.
i輸入阻抗(Input Impedance)
給模塊供電的電源阻抗會干擾模塊,為了減小干擾,當電源電感大于2μH時,應在模塊輸入端加22—
100μF的電解電容.
The source impedance of the power feeding the DC/DC converter module will interact with the
DC/DC converter. To minimize the interaction, a 22—100μF input electrolytic capacitor should
be present if the source inductance is greater than 2μH.
i散熱(Heat Dissipation)
模塊半載以上使用時必須使用風扇散熱,半載以下為了提高模塊的可靠性也可以使用風扇.如圖所示的
風向可以達到最佳的散熱效果.
When the power modules operate with a load greater than half rated load, a fan must be used
to transfer heat.When the power modules operate with a load smaller than half rated load, using
a fan can increase the reliability of the power modules. Airflow as this picture shows can achieve
the best heat dissipation.
i可靠性(Reliability)
本模塊經過嚴格的設計,如元器件降額使用、產品設計反復論證等,通過嚴格的老化和測試可以篩選出
早期失效的模塊.使用Telcordia TR-332計算方法計算出MTBF值大于3×106小時.不恰當的操作或清
潔過程會影響模塊的外觀、易測性和可靠性.
The power modules are designed using stringent design guidelines for component derating,
product qualification, and design reviews. Early failures are screened out by both burn-in and
final test. The MTBF is calculated to be greater than 3M hours using the Telcordia TR-332
calculation method. Improper handling or cleaning processes can adversely affect the appearance,
testability, and reliability of the power modules.

八、DC-DC的應用與設計(Application and Design of DC-DC Converter)
DC—DC需要合理的使用,下面的應用資料有助于應用工程師設計出更優秀的供電系統.

8.1 輸入考慮 (Input Consideration)
8.1.1 輸入保護Input Protection
可外加輸入保護電路,一般由保險絲、反極性保護二極管、輸入電容、瞬態抑制二極管等組成,常用的輸入保護電路如圖1所示.用戶可根據實際情況組合選用.
在模塊輸入端的保險絲提供安全保護,一般保險絲的規格可選取1.5~2倍的額定輸入電流,如果模塊工作在一個相當寬的電壓范圍,保險絲應該選擇2倍的最大輸入電流.
輸入的濾波電容可吸收模塊輸入端的電壓尖峰并為模塊提供一定的維持電壓,一般在25~50W功率48V輸入的模塊,選擇幾十微法左右的電容較為合適.考慮到紋波的因素,盡量選用低ESR的電容.

為了防止輸入電源瞬態高壓將電源模塊燒毀,可在輸入端接一瞬態抑制二極管,放在濾波電容之前.此二極管還可起到反極性保護的作用.
為了降低共模噪聲,可以增加Y電容,一般選擇幾納法高頻電容.但這種保護方法僅限于有case(接殼)引腳的模塊.
Users can add input protection circuit like Fig.1 as required. In common, the fuse should be 1.5 to 2 times of module rated input current, and the input capacitor filter should be low ESR. To protect the module from instantaneous high input voltage, users can also use a TVS before the input capacitor filter. The Y capacitors can reduce common mode noise, but they can only be used on modules with case pin.
8.1.2 輸入范圍Range of Input Voltage
輸入欠壓不會損害模塊,只會造成模塊工作異常,但輸入過壓應有限制.一般情況下,輸入電壓為9~18V范圍的產品,輸入電壓不得超過25V;輸入電壓為18~
